Blending cinematic storytelling, raw emotion, and immersive soundscapes, this interview explores the creative world behind “Lost in the Jungle,” artistic independence, and the personal journey shaping MILYAM’s music.

1. “Lost in the Jungle” feels less like a single and more like stepping into a cinematic universe—how did the concept for this world first take shape, and what inspired its atmosphere?

When I wrote this song, I was going through a period of deep personal transformation. My mind was flooded with thousands of images from my past—like fragmented scenes from a movie, triggering emotions that were incredibly difficult to process. That’s when I turned to songwriting. It became my safe haven and helped me navigate that intense chapter. There is a powerful release in creation: once it’s out there, it’s no longer heavy inside you. I wanted to meticulously recreate the exact atmosphere of that inner landscape. I wanted to show myself, and anyone who needs to hear it, that even after the darkest night, the brightest dawn inevitably follows. Paradoxically, our strength lies hidden within our vulnerabilities. It takes immense courage to look your fears in the eye, but that is exactly where healing begins. These cinematic worlds were my way of stepping out of the shadows and into the light.

2. Your music sits at the intersection of sound and visual storytelling. When creating a track, do you see” the visuals first, or does the music naturally evolve into something cinematic as you build it?

When I begin writing, my primary focus is entirely on the emotion I am feeling, and the specific visual imagery that naturally associates with that feeling. For me, the two are inseparable from the very start. My tracks are never just songs; they are deeply personal, vivid stories told through sound.

3. Your vocals have been described as sultry and immersive—how do you approach vocal performance to ensure it becomes part of the environment rather than just sitting on top of the production?

I believe the voice is our ultimate instrument for connecting with the world. When I record, I don’t just sing notes—I sing exactly what I feel in that raw moment. I wanted every vibration, every breath of my vocal performance to carry that pure emotion, turning the track into an intimate conversation with the listener. The vocal is the very foundation and heart of my music; the entire sonic environment is built to breathe around it.

4. Releasing music under your own label, MILYAM EMPIRE, suggests a strong sense of independence. What are the biggest challenges and rewards of building your artistic vision entirely on your own terms?

Navigating the music industry independently requires immense courage and willpower, because in the beginning, you are driven by pure conviction without seeing immediate results. The biggest challenge is maintaining that relentless momentum and discipline, continuing to create and push forward whether inspiration is present or not. However, the rewards are unmatched when you have the right people by your side. I am incredibly fortunate that the heavy lifting of management rests on my mother’s shoulders. She is the foundation, the strategist, and the visionary heartbeat of our shared project. She is the driving force behind MILYAM EMPIRE, and I am profoundly grateful to her—without her dedication, many of my songs would still be locked away in my archives.

5. There’s a strong emphasis on high-fidelity production and sonic detail in your work. How important is technical precision to you compared to emotional expression when shaping a track like “Lost in the Jungle”?

The other questions resonated with me so deeply that I found myself writing much longer, heartfelt answers. I chose to focus all my energy on those stories to avoid repeating myself and to give you the sincerest insights possible.

6. With growing international recognition and radio support, how do you see your artistic world evolving next—are you aiming to expand this cinematic universe further, or explore entirely new creative directions?

I truly feel like I am only at the very beginning of my journey. I am so grateful to Amazing Radio for the incredible airplay, and it means the world to me that the team at A Collective Convo on KBBF 89.1 FM named my single ‘Intimacy’ their Underground Song of the Week. To me, the creative journey never truly ends, and evolution is an inevitable, beautiful part of any artistic path. I plan to continue moving in this direction, creating songs where the core focus remains on absolute sincerity, deep emotion, and immersive atmosphere. Right now, my energy is entirely focused on the new album and preparing for a US tour. This is just the beginning, and our empire will resonate globally.
